Carlin Pyy
When I graduated I never expected that I would end up becoming a Professional Carpet Cleaning Technician, offering cleaning services, or owning a cleaning company. I graduated from Nechako Valley Secondary School in 2011, with intent the intent of becoming a commercial helicopter pilot, but some ended up fulfilling half that dream before the oil industry took a downturn in 2015 decimating the demand for pilots. With no desire to fight the pilot job market which would have had me living in a dark hole under the stairs, eating cold pizza, and dying anxiety and boredom leading towards a dim and uncertain future, I have pursued numerous other opportunities.

From operating heavy equipment, farming, ranching, lumber/pellet mills, janitor, housekeeper, laundry, warehousing, and now business owner, I have experienced many ways to serve employers, work with fellow employee, and above all have endeavored to the expectations of quality and service for clients and customers. I have always found myself meticulous, detail oriented, and always seeking innovative ways to make my work more effective, efficient and of greater value.

There is no limit in opportunities to serve others, the only limit is in one's will to serve others.
The Company's History
Nechako Surface Care
Started in the early 2000s, as Sophia's Professional Carpet Care, for 25+ Years, the company has operated and served the communities of Vanderhoof, Fort St. James, Fraser Lake and surrounding area of the Stuart-Nechako. It changed ownership in 2003, and again in the spring of 2020.

Since acquiring the business in 2020, we have been proactively seeking out opportunities and demand to expand business and services to meet the cleaning and surface maintenance of business clients and residential customers. We've since grown from doing strictly Carpet and Upholstery, to adding on service for Tile & Grout, Luxury Vinyl Plank & Tile, Stripping & Wax Floors, Deep Cleaning Concrete, Epoxy, Stone, and other hard surface flooring.

In the summer of 2024 we acquire portable professional Duct Cleaning Equipment by HyperVac to meet the demand for duct cleaning and counter the scams that sought to exploit local the community through doing substandard, incomplete work that the customer would have to pay a full-priced duct cleaner to finish and a furnace maintenance company to repair any damage against the HVAC system. Taking on Air Duct Cleaning as part of our business also allows our customers to NOT need to call around the neighborhood or post on the local community message board to gain additional clients for the purpose of justifying the day and travel for the HVAC cleaning company. This takes a load off the customer's mind and allows them not to worry about the appointment being cancelled on them and their friends and family due to unforeseen circumstances.

We finally made the decision to rebrand to Nechako Surface Care in the winter of 2026 when it was established what services we would be offering and what we would want our brand to represent. We are looking into offering more services in the future as demand requires on top of our current services. This said we're still trying to upgrade toward newer and more powerful and effective equipment that will meet the needs of our customers.
